They are getting rid of this shoe because of all the Blackwater guys that wear them in Iraq. The better shoe is the next version of this with the rubber strip above the sole rubber. If you step in water with the new ones, as opposed to the stretch shown here, your feet will not get wet.

These are hands down the very best shoes I have ever worn in my life. I am going on six pairs-Why? Because I wear them every day and they are the best!!!

+1 on the high top version. That is the only thing that would make them better. These are great light train shoes.

Just a great shoe...comfort, looks, and performance. Perhaps Merrell will come out with an Obama commorative edition!

Hopefully they will come out with a revised version that will not fall apart at the toe as my previous two pair have. Other than that cosmetic misfortune these have been wonderful shoes.

Why is it that companies are so pressed to drop a product that is quality and popular and instead follow the "new is better" line? Any one remember the "New Coke" or end of the Ford Taurus?

I've worn these shoes everyday for the past two years (literally, everyday) in snow, rain, cutting grass, work (they get a little wet at work) traveling to other countries, etc- they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn and they have held up well. I am happy to see I can get a new pair of 13's in the same color, but disappointed that they'll be killing this style off- why???? I must ask! They are the best shoes I've ever put on. I am thinking of buying two pair to hold me over for another 4-6 years in case i end up having to bid on them in 6 years in some crazy auction! Seriously, Merrell, keep making these!
